I get it. Chaos and dysfunction surround us, so asking for a tiny slice of your attention is asking a lot.

But there is also no greater need for distraction these days. It’s one reason why I love to write: to escape from the world, and to produce a book that people will enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It took a while to warm up to the main character, but I liked her growth and how things turned out. The descriptions of the Nevada countryside, life on a dude ranch, small company-town, and the townsfolk were very well done. At times I could picture the sunrise and almost smell the hay.
