In today’s episode of our award-winning podcast, we discuss our experiences as independent authors, focusing on the challenges of book marketing, the fear of success, and the psychological factors that influence our writing journey.
We share our personal stories about being recognized in public, the pressures of visibility, and the importance of finding a balance between comfort and ambition. Our conversation also touches on strategies for overcoming the fear of success, and the significance of marketing in the independent publishing landscape.
We have a book release this week along with a free giveaway, and you’ll be able to meet us in person at book signings in October and November. We hope you check us out. TIA LYL!

My biggest fear when it comes to big S success is the expectations that will come with it. Right now I am free to proceed as I wish with little pressure to produce the next work now. The other fear I have is in the detractors who will come after me as a hack simply because I have risen above them.
100% reasonable.
I think “success” is a complex situation that doesn’t get nearly the attention as “failure” because, in my opinion, humans assume they fail more often that they succeed. I wonder if that assumption is true.
We also don’t easily see the tiny and big successes because our failures are easier to remember.
