Episode 165:
At some point, writers will be asked to explain their books, so CC and I do a little on-air practicing with her interviewing me. The main questions:
How do I write strong female characters?
Where do I get my ideas?
First book I remember reading?
What is my daily writing process and where is my favorite place to write?
What would I tell non-writers about writing?
Being interviewed is an interesting process and its own art. Have a listen and let us know what you think. TIA LYL!

I’ve been listening to your podcast for about 2 months now and thought your interview with JT makes for a perfect time to say hello, and ask a question.
What about those of us for whom writing happens? I never chose to write, it chose me. That it cannot be escaped though is a truth I can heartily agree with. The only place where I do have a choice is in which story am I going focus on.
[This may be a second reply. WordPress trashed my first and I can’t find it.]
We love this line: I never chose to write, it chose me.
Looking back, we think we were always destined to write. We were both heavy readers growing up, and we wrote stories as escapism from our childhoods. That’s mostly like when “writing chose us”: the idea of better lives out there somewhere, and if we couldn’t have them, then we’ll make them up. Our mutual cocaine habit grew from there. (grin)
Nowadays, it’s like what we said in the podcast: write or be very frustrated.
